Bekah and Holden recently celebrated their stunning destination wedding at Atelier Playa Mujeres, surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was such an honor to be part of their wedding journey, and they were an absolute joy to work with from start to finish.
Bekah is also a wedding planner with The Finer Side. With 10 years of event coordination, she has recently expanded into international destination weddings.

How did you meet?
We were introduced not long after college and quickly discovered we were on opposite sides of the SEC rivalry—Holden cheering for Alabama and me rooting for Georgia. Despite our playful banter over football, Holden’s persistence and genuine care stood out. Even though I wasn’t sure at first, he never gave up on us. Another big piece of our story was making sure our dogs got along, since they were (and still are!) such a huge part of our lives. Thankfully, they passed the test, and eventually I realized Holden was exactly the person I had been waiting for.
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
As an Event Coordinator for the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with so many incredible venues and vendors across the states. When it came time to plan my own wedding, I knew choosing just one would be nearly impossible. After much thought, Holden and I decided that what we really wanted was a destination wedding—a full weekend away, spent intimately with our favorite people. I also wanted to challenge myself by coordinating my own wedding in a completely different setting, and it truly stretched me in the best ways. I planned three days of events for our guests to enjoy, and seeing it all come together made the weekend not only unforgettable, but the best of our lives.
Why did you choose Atelier Playa Mujeres for your destination wedding?
We chose Atelier because it was highly rated for its culinary excellence, unmatched service, and stunning aesthetic. Believe it or not, we never actually visited the resort before our wedding weekend, so we relied heavily on Shoreline Destinations to help guide us through the decision. After many conversations about what we envisioned for our day, we felt complete confidence that Atelier was the perfect place to tie the knot—and it absolutely lived up to everything we dreamed of.
What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?
The most memorable moment of the entire day was watching my closest friends begin their walk down the aisle. When the last of them had gone, it was suddenly just me and my dad. As I steadied my breathing, hardly believing it was finally my turn, I turned to look at him—and he was already in a puddle of tears. In that instant, we both broke down, hugging tightly and sharing a flood of emotions as he told me how happy and joyful he was for me. After gathering ourselves, we began the walk down the aisle together. The moment I saw my groom waiting for me, I was overwhelmed again with tears of joy. Our ceremony was officiated by his sister, who wove our love story together so beautifully that there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. It was the sweetest, most heartfelt ceremony I’ve ever witnessed—and it just so happened to be our own.
What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
The best part about having a destination wedding was having everyone already there and truly getting to spend time together. Instead of just one day, we had an entire weekend to relax by the pool, share meals, and make memories in a beautiful tropical setting. It was so special to watch our friends and family enjoy a vacation of their own—being pampered, soaking in the sun, and indulging in amazing food and drinks. It created such a joyful, relaxed atmosphere and made the whole experience unforgettable.
