How did you meet?
We first matched on Bumble back in 2016, but apparently, fate likes to keep things interesting. We went on a few dates over the years, had great conversations, and mastered the art of the “accidental ghost” before finally getting serious in October 2019.
From that point on, every time we hung out, we never wanted the night to end—mainly because we were too busy talking, laughing, and pretending we weren’t already falling for each other. By January 2020, we made it official, and thanks to some dating app luck, the rest is history!
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
We love to travel—passport stamps are basically our love language. So far, we’ve explored six countries together, with plenty more still on the bucket list. A destination wedding felt like the perfect way to share that sense of adventure with our friends and family. Plus, let’s be honest, it’s a pretty genius way to turn one day of celebration into a multi-day party in paradise. And if we get a little extra time to hang out with our favorite people while sipping cocktails on a beach? Well, we won’t complain!
Why did you choose to have your wedding at El Mangroove in Costa Rica?
Neither of us had been to Central America, but we knew we wanted a wedding with that perfect jungle-meets-Caribbean vibe. After hearing rave reviews from friends who visited Costa Rica, we figured it was time to see what all the hype was about.
A little research later, and we were completely sold—Costa Rica had the natural beauty, adventure, and laid-back energy we were looking for. As for El Mangroove, it was love at first Google search. The location is ideal, the aesthetic is exactly our style, and honestly, it didn’t hurt that we could picture ourselves sipping cocktails there long after the wedding festivities are over!
