How did you meet?
We met in high schools riding the same bus! Our older sisters were best friends and we both had a crush on each other without knowing. On the last day of school in 2014, Bryan & his step brother were getting off of the bus and his step brother said, "Take this number and please text him, he won't shut up about you" and the rest is history!
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
We have always loved doing destination trips and always envisioned doing one for our wedding so there really was no question. We love the idea of having all of our favorite people in one beautiful spot with amazing food and drinks, that's our dream wedding.
Why did you choose Dreams Playa Mujeres for your destination wedding?
We got engaged at Secrets Moxche and have never loved a resort more, but since we have kids in our family, we needed to find a resort that was kid-friendly but still had a fun, adult-only feeling to it. Dreams Playa Mujeres checked all of those boxes and felt like the perfect place to bring a large group to.
What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?
One of our favorite moments was the sand ceremony. Our minister explained the symbolism of blending the sand so beautifully, it truly captured the meaning of joining our lives together. We were completely in the moment, focused on each other, but also took time to look around and take in all the love surrounding us from friends and family who had traveled so far to celebrate with us. It was incredibly special.
What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
The best part was getting to spend several days surrounded by our closest friends and family. We made so many memories - not just during the wedding itself, but over shared meals, by the pool, and at the beach. The wedding day goes by in a flash, so having that extra time together made it all the more meaningful. It’s such a rare and amazing thing to have all your favorite people in one place, especially somewhere so beautiful.
