How did you meet?
We met while studying abroad in a small town called Paderno del Grappa, Italy. All 44 students from universities across the U.S. lived together in an Italian boarding school, where we quickly became like one big family. We went to class together, ate meals in the dining hall, and spent evenings at the sports café enjoying €1 glasses of wine.

On weekends, we traveled together, exploring different countries and making memories across Europe for four unforgettable months. When the program ended, we returned home to New Jersey and Illinois. Just a few short weeks later, despite the distance between us, we decided to make it official.

Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
We chose a destination wedding because we wanted to turn our wedding into more than just one day, it was an opportunity to spend extra time celebrating with our closest family and friends. We both love to travel, and with one of us from New Jersey and the other from Illinois, a destination wedding felt like the perfect way to bring everyone together for an unforgettable experience.

Why did you choose to have your wedding at Hard Rock Punta Cana?
We chose this resort because it has been a special place for Julia and her family since she was eight years old, making it a destination filled with so many wonderful memories. We also loved that it was family-friendly and large enough for everyone to enjoy their own activities while still having plenty of opportunities to spend time together. It felt like the perfect place to create new memories with all of our favorite people.

What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?
Our most memorable moment was seeing all of our family and friends there, despite having to move our ceremony time up and completely rearrange our plans at the last minute due to incoming weather. For the bride, it was especially special pulling up in the vintage car with her dad and seeing everyone waiting for us. Being able to still have our beach ceremony with no rain, it was a moment that made all the last-minute changes completely worth it.

What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
The best part of having a destination wedding was getting to spend so much more time with our friends and family. Instead of just having four hours together on our wedding day, we got to share an entire vacation, sitting by the pool, catching up with people we hadn’t seen in years, and making memories together. Having everyone in one place for an extended celebration made it truly unforgettable.
