How did you meet?
We met on the dating app Hinge! Our first time meeting in person was at a local Mexican restaurant where we shared a jalapeno margarita - very fitting given where we ended up getting married and selecting as our signature drink!
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
A destination wedding felt right to us especially since we both love to travel and have had wonderful experiences at other destination weddings we attended in the past. We wanted to create a memorable and exciting experience for our friends and family.
Why did you choose to have your wedding at AVA Resort Cancun?
We chose Cancun because of the familiarity with South Asian weddings and knew it would be a great experience. We specifically chose AVA because it is a stunning resort and we felt the venue spaces aligned with what we envisioned for our events. It's close to the airport yet feels like you've stepped into another world once you enter the resort. The kindness and hospitality of the staff took it to another level. And we loved the taco stand from our first visit to the resort!
What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?: Simply being present with our guests throughout the weekend made our experience so memorable. Of course we enjoyed the food, dancing, music and celebrations, but the little moments throughout the weekend like greeting all of our guests upon their arrival, having breakfast together at the buffet, and spending time with them at the pool made everything sweeter.
What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
It felt like a big family vacation! Having all of our loved ones under one roof was so exciting and it's exactly the vibe we wanted to set for the wedding weekend. We also wanted our guests to have the opportunity to relax in between events and enjoy everything the resort had to offer.
What was your experience using Shoreline Destinations?
Seamless from start to finish! We appreciated how everyone we interacted with was so kind, organized, and eager to help. You all left no question unanswered, anticipated details we never would have thought of, and kept everything running seamlessly behind the scenes so that we could simply be present and enjoy every moment of our wedding weekend. You problem-solved. You were patient with us through every change of mind and moment of uncertainty. You made us feel like our wedding wasn’t just another event on your calendar, but something you truly cared about.
