How did you meet?
We met the millennial way-online :) We swiped right on Saturday, had our first date the next Wednesday, and by that night we knew we wanted to be together. That was three years ago and we have been going strong ever since. We bonded over our shared love of scary movies, traveling, and our pups.
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
We chose a destination wedding because we both love to travel and wanted to share an adventure with our family and friends. We have friends and family that would be traveling from all over, so we figured an all-inclusive vacation combined with our special day would be the perfect way to celebrate.
Why did you choose to have your wedding at Hyatt Ziva Cancun?
We were originally booked for Hyatt Ziva and Zilara Rose Hall in Jamaica, but unfortunately had to cancel due to Hurricane Melissa. With Andrea's help, we decided to switch to Hyatt Ziva in Cancun for an easy transition. Andrea highlighted how beautiful and amazing Hyatt Ziva Cancun was and it did not disappoint!
What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?
It’s hard to choose one memory!
For Auja, it would have to be standing at the altar reciting my vows.
For Brendan, it was his Godson and ring bearer’s special surprise speech that brought everyone to tears.
What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
Having a destination wedding is such a dream because it’s one of the most important days of your life combined with a beautiful vacation with your family and friends. Planning a destination wedding can be stressful, especially since we did not do a preview day, so our first time seeing the resort was when we arrived. But we have zero regrets and would recommend a destination wedding in a heartbeat!
What was your experience using Shoreline Destinations?
Working with Andrea and her team was such an invaluable experience. Navigating having to switch countries and resorts half way through the wedding planning process was extremely stressful, but Andrea’s connections and insight helped us tremendously. Andrea had early insight that our resort was going to remain closed and got us moved to our new resort before the official announcement was even made! I can’t begin to explain how Andrea lifted a huge weight of stress off of our shoulders by being efficient, detail-oriented, and ultimately having industry connections that helped expedite our process.
