How did you meet?
I (Maya) was invited to a private event where Ty was shooting as a photographer. We ended up being introduced in a group, but Ty was right across from me. The first words out of his mouth were playful, as if we'd already met before. I kept 'running into him' throughout the night. Before I left, we exchanged numbers & we've been locked in ever since!
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
We always knew we wanted to get married in a tropical setting (near clear water was also a must). We both love to travel and explore, so we decided to choose a location neither one of us had been to. Also, we'd heard about how many domestic weddings were very itemized, so having packages to choose from made more sense! It was truly the best decision all around.
Why did you choose Secrets Baby Beach Aruba and your destination?
For starters, neither one of us had been to Aruba. So we thought it'd be very sentimental for us to make it official in a place that was brand-new to both of us. Also, finding out that the majority of our friends and family hadn't been either was a huge plus! We don't know anyone personally who's had their wedding ceremony in Aruba, so we liked how different it was for that reason as well. Also, Secrets Baby Beach had recently opened, which drew us to the resort even more.
What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?
Our ceremony was so surreal! Seeing all of our loved ones at the same time isn't something we've experienced to this degree, so that would be one of the top highlights. Everyone looked so lovely in their shades of sage. Having Baby Beach in the background was the most magical view!
What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
Being able to allow our guests to have their own getaways while celebrating with us in paradise! We were very big on everyone enjoying themselves as much as they could, and an all-inclusive resort right on the beach helped our vision come to life.
What was your experience using Shoreline Destinations?
Shoreline Destinations was amazing! We expected nothing less after raving reviews from my brother and sister-in-law. Attending their wedding in 2024 set the pace for what we envisioned.
