How did you meet?
We met during our junior year of college—on the dance floor at one of our favorite bars, of all places. It was one of those random nights that ended up meaning more than we expected!
Not long after, we realized we had mutual friends and even lived just a few houses apart. Things came together pretty naturally… fast forward six years, and we’ve endured periods of long-distance, bought our first home, and adopted three cats who are the light of our lives (and the cause of most of our chaos).
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
We knew from the start that the most important part of our wedding was spending intentional time with the people we love most. A destination wedding felt like the perfect way to create a relaxed, joyful atmosphere where we could celebrate for more than just one night—and truly make lasting memories with our closest family and friends.
Plus, with our families living in different states, travel was going to be involved for someone either way… so we figured, why not make it somewhere beautiful and fun for everyone?

We were instantly drawn to Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres from the moment we saw the photos—between the stunning modern aesthetic and the tropical, peaceful setting, it checked every box. The close proximity to the airport was a huge bonus, and we loved the overall energy of that part of Mexico: vibrant, serene, and romantic.
Funny enough, we ended up torn between two resorts, both incredible in their own ways. After days of back and forth, we finally flipped a coin—and let fate make the call. It couldn’t have worked out better!
